The tramway cycle route Maastricht-Vaals Version 3.0

This is the alternative proposed by the steering group to the controversial tram bike route Maastricht-Vaals.
The route at Cadier en Keer leads optionally through the village or along the unpaved Zwarte Weg.
At De Hut (instead of through the "Vosgrubbe"), the route is diverted via Reijmerstok. Cyclists will go over Termaar, cross the N598, and then follow the (partially) to be paved Molenweg and the Pleistraat to the Reijmerstokkerdorpsstraat. There, turn left and after the tram viaduct the route continues to the right over the originally planned route along the Euveremsveldweg.
Around the bustling center of Gulpen, an alternative choice over the Fietsknooppuntenroute has been made.
At Partij, the route does not follow the Oude Baan, but the Heirbaan (Gülkoelerweg) and reaches Vaals via Vijlen.
As not all roads are paved yet, the route type is temporarily still a mountain bike route.

This project has unfortunately definitively deviated from the (tram)way.
As a reminder of this beautiful idea, I will keep this route on this website.
