Short route description:
This route first leads along the Loosdrechtse Plassen, a collective name for a number of lakes that arose after an extensive peat excavation. This has resulted in a perfect and beautiful water sports area where you can enjoy cycling. Via the Maarsseveense Plassen you will reach the cozy Vechtdorp Maarssen, after which you can turn left at KP 45 to view the impressive Slot Zuylen. The way back goes along the equally winding and beautiful Vecht. The Rich of yesteryear had their castles and stately country houses built along this river. During this bike tour you will pass a number of these houses, such as Goudestein from 1628 and Nyenrode Castle.
