The route starts at the hiking parking lot and the Het Stroomhuis restaurant in Neerijnen and runs counterclockwise through the Tielerwaard and Nederbetuwe along the rivers Waal, Linge, and Korne.

You drive past Neerijnen Castle and then across the Waalbandijk towards Tiel. At Zennewijnen, you leave the dike along the Waal and head towards Wadenoijen, briefly following the Linge River, crossing it, and then following it along the northern bank (but only well beyond Kapel Avezaath do you drive directly along the Linge again). Afterwards, you head into picturesque Buren, which received town rights in 1395. The fortifications of Buren are still largely intact. At the Korne River, you then head northwest through the polders.

At Tricht, you come back to the Linge and drive west through the Mariënwaerdt estate over the Appeldijk (the dike is surrounded by apple trees). At Beesd, you switch banks and follow the southern bank of the Linge. The route then goes south, past Geofort, and at Herwijnen you reach the Waaldijk. You follow the Waaldijk eastward. At Waardenburg, you must go underneath the A2 and then continue for a short distance along the Waal, with a view of the mill and Waardenburg Castle. The Waaldijk between the castle and Neerijnen is an unpaved road (gravel), which is very well suited for cycling with a racing bike.
