Take a walk through De Pannenhoef, a unique and quiet nature reserve just below Etten-Leur in Brabant. From the fourteenth to the seventeenth century, peat was mined here. In dried form (peat), everything was transported via peat shipping to Breda and Roosendaal as fuel for households and breweries. Now there is a beautiful nature reserve of forest, fens and flowery meadows. Along the fens grow rare plants such as heather cartel leaf and marsh deer hay. The rest of the route you walk through a rural area of fields, meadows and small forest plots. It is wonderfully quiet walking here, ideal for a day of relaxation. In the hamlets of Zandspui and Klappenberg, time seems to have stood still a bit. At the end of your route it is time for a Burgundian terrace at De Menmoerhoeve.
