AzureThis walk through the eastern mining region runs through Rimburg, Eygelshoven and Landgraaf. Along the way you will discover the traces that the Romans left here: some very tangible, such as a milestone along the road and others more abstract such as the landscape. About two thousand years ago, the Romans built the Via Belgica : a road from Cologne in Germany to Boulogne-sur-Mer in France. In Rimburg, the Via Belgica crossed the river Worm and entered the Netherlands. How she continued her way is not yet certain, but Eygelshoven and Landgraaf also harbor plenty of Roman traces.
You start at Brugstraat 16 in Landgraaf.
