The Mini-Marmot

A Marathon by bike

It is a tough training round (counterclockwise) as a shorter version of my very heavy "Kleine Marmot". The latter can be found here.

Departure and end point is the free parking lot of "Café Riekelt" in Rijckholt, Rijksweg 184 (on the main road between Gronsveld and Eijsden).
The route contains 8 climbs with a total of almost 500 altimeters. The first climb to Moerslag is the easiest (6%) and the last to Cadier en Keer is the most difficult (15%).
As usual, the route is as much as possible on small car-free back roads (you may get to places you have never been before), while the climbs are selected for training content.
The distances between the climbs are getting bigger and the climbs are getting steeper. Those intermediate pieces are also not flat everywhere! Small gears are therefore often needed.

These are the climbs with their maximum gradient:
1. Nut stroke: 6%
2. Rondelenstraat Mheer: 8%
3. Stallestraat Mheer: 8%
4. Bergenhuizen: 12%
5. Bergenhuizenweg to Banholt: 7%
6. Schey: 10%
7. Groenendalsweg Euverem:12%
8. Orenberg Cadier and Times: 15%
