This bike route is a circular route with a total length of 52 km. The shortcut route can be divided into the northern route – approx. 31.5 km and the southern routes – approx. 26 km.

The route can be followed both via the digital map and hexagonal signposts. The route is signposted in one direction (clockwise on the map). This direction is indicated by green/white hexagonal signs with the text Erfgooiersroute. This bike route was compiled by the City and Country Foundation. Established in collaboration with the ANWB in 1978. Updated, adjusted, and edited in 2014 by iTRovator/ RBT Gooi & Vecht in cooperation with the City and Country Foundation. There is also a GPS audio tour connected to the route. This can be downloaded via the Gooi & Vecht Tour app in the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android). The main starting point of the route is located at Sint Janskerkhof / Geological Museum Hofland in Laren.
