Crown Jewel Kunraderberg

A beautiful sunny and slightly cloudy morning, so I decided to bring my camera. On this crown jewel walk (Scrabble word), it's really a "must" if you go at least in the month of May. At the beginning of May, you can already smell the wild garlic from afar, which you will encounter in large numbers. Soon after in May, the fields are filled with wildflowers (no flower bulb fields). And where the rattlesnake grows in May, there are plenty of orchids in June.

This hiking route is not just a must, but also a must for nature lovers. Right from the start in the beautiful Imstenraderbos, you will then see the hamlet of Benzenrade at your feet up on Heerlen. On the hollow paths with flowers by the roadside and beautiful views and panoramas, you have to stop and take photos. Due to the field paths that wind down not only downhill but also alongside cow pastures and the former lime kilns in Ubachsberg down to the plateau.
