Leersumse Veld and Broekhuizen Castle

From/to: start at TOP parking lot* at the bottom of the Hoogstraat, 3956 NA Leersum, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, the Netherlands. Free parking.

During the breeding season from mid-March to the end of August, the south-eastern part of the Leersumse Veld is closed in an easterly direction over a length of approximately 1 km, but then you can easily walk around the lakes on the north side.

At any time of the year, this is a very beautiful route for walkers and joggers over the wooded hill De Hoogstraat, along the Leersumse Veld and Breeveen heathland, the Tomb of Nellesteijn and back through the park of Broekhuizen Castle and through the hamlet of Darthuizen.
