Follow in the footsteps of the smugglers and walk the border between Belgium and the Netherlands on this forest ranger path over the Strijbeekse Heide in North Brabant. In August, the heather turns purple, although a walk around the island in Goudberg has something magical in every season.
The creek forms the border between the Netherlands and Belgium. The peat island in the Goudbergven is one of the last pieces of raised bog in the Netherlands. Above the heather, the red kite flies around. In Belgium, you walk among the old sea pines, avenues, and deciduous trees. Dogs are welcome, provided they are on a leash. The walk mainly goes over sand and partly over meadows and is not suitable for the disabled.
