A beautiful journey along the Geul from its source to Valkenburg ad Geul. This journey is a classic and is organized annually on the first weekend of October. The route is not signposted, but the Geul is your compass. The route goes through hills and valleys and is a wonderful journey to enjoy. The Geul starts as a babbling stream that slowly grows into a brook and eventually becomes a small river.
Along the Geul, unique flora grows, with the Zinc Violet being the most well-known and common. It is therefore not surprising that we encounter old, no longer used zinc mines with remnants of their furnaces. Half-timbered houses and typical Belgian architecture provide a beautifully diverse route.
