The Limburg village name route

The villages with the Limburg names: Sjilveld-Broenssem and Ieëtselder invited us to make this walking route. Not the villages themselves but the names we find inviting enough and then they are very rural which is of course sufficient to make a trip. First of all there is the Schinvelder farm that is special enough to view. But believe it or not we were well out of the car in the parking lot and we saw a deer against the shelter next to this farm. Not at all afraid or timid, not even of a passing dog, and at ease she finally wandered into the bushes.

We have not often experienced such a beautiful way to start a walk. The first loop along the edge of the forest of Schinveld and also along the Scottish highlanders ran along fens, but also near the glider airfield and Nonke Buuske. So wonderfully quiet and not meeting any other hikers until you are startled with a hellish noise of an ascending AWACS that skims over your head and a bit later the annoying noise of the traffic of the new Outer ring.

The 2nd loop is on the other side of the busy traffic artery between Brunssum and Sint Odieliënberg, in the direction of Roermond, where we passed through a pedestrian tunnel. Now straight through the fields and fields to the old clemens church and the village Merkelbeek to Etzenrade or Ie "tselder to return to the farm.
