The route starts from Ravenstein (for example, from the parking lot Bleek or the parking lot at the small harbor (Loswal)). You ride the route clockwise along the Brabant part of the Maas (Maasland) and the Gelderland part of the Maas (Land van Maas en Waal). This means that you first cycle along winding dike roads next to the Maas. Between Ravenstein and Dieden, there is a non-mandatory bike path along the dike road. Take the dike road here and not the bike path because the bike path is narrow. Also enjoy the mill and the church of Dieden that seem to be stuck against the dike. The route goes briefly away from the Maas through the floodplains towards Megen. At the picturesque Megen, a village with a historic village center, you will return to the Maasdijk until Lithoijen. Between Lithoijen and Lith, there is no possibility to cycle over the dike.

In Lith, you cross the Maas via the ferry Lith - Alphen. This also means that you leave the province of North Brabant and head into the province of Gelderland. After that, you cycle over relatively newly constructed bike paths (opened on September 2, 2017) through the floodplains of the Maas (through the nature reserve Moleneindsewaard) towards Alphen and then over the Maasdijk. So for about 10 km, you cycle along the Maas with views of the Maas. In Maasbommel, the route goes around the recreation area de Gouden Ham, over a mandatory bike path. Near Appeltern, you will be back on the Maasdijk. You then cycle towards Batenburg, a picturesque spot with beautiful farms and ruins of a former castle.

You continue your way through the Liendensche Waard and cycle again along the Maas. You then cycle around the Loonse Waard, and then along the Maasbanddijk next to the Maas (partly only accessible to cyclists). You then cross the Maas via the viaduct of the N324 (near Grave) and you enter the province of North Brabant again, in the area known as Maasland. You cycle through the nature reserve Keent, formed along an old Maas meander. After that, you will quickly return to Ravenstein, a place with a historic core that is worth a visit.
