Elfstedentocht Friesland (NED)

Eleven Cities Route:
Once in your life you must have ridden or sailed the Elfstedentocht. Otherwise you will miss the experience of a large part of the rich history of the Netherlands. Nowhere else will you find such a varied route as the Elfstedenroute, worldwide known Frisian heritage since the last Elfstedentocht on the skate (200 km.) in January 1997.

Friesland (in Frisian and officially Fryslân) is one of the 12 provinces of the Netherlands. Fryslân has been around for more than 2000 years. The Romans were the first tourists. They were very impressed...! You too will be. Friesland has developed over the centuries into a separate part of the Netherlands. Nowhere else will you find in one region with a diameter of 100 km. Such a great friendship in landscape, cultural history and recreation:
