Description by the author

Kerkrade, located on the German border, seems foreign because of the hilly area and the beautiful nature reserves. The only reservoir in the Netherlands is located here and the many streams have left beautiful stream valleys with ponds in which the trout has its habitat. The border river Worm is unique because of the many years of neglect and discharge of the laundries of the mines it is now a gem managed by Natuurmonumenten. The beaver and the Halloway cattle behren this area.
