The start and end point is Eetcafé Riekelt, Rijksweg 184 in Rijckholt, located on the main road between Gronsveld and Eijsden (postcode 6247 AN).
There is a large free parking lot.
The route takes the shape of a sort of eight and mostly goes over unpaved roads, which can be muddy here and there after rain.
Halfway through the walk, a 360-degree panorama can be admired from the lookout tower on the Mescherhei.

On the way back, this route passes through the "Mescher Plukbos". There is also a shorter version of this walk that does not go through there, which you can find here.
