Overlangbroek - Odijk v.v., canals and castles

From/to: start at the corner of Gooyerdijk and Langbroekerweg*, 3947 MD Doorn, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, The Netherlands.

In all seasons a nice bike ride along three drainage canals in the vicinity of Langbroek and along a part of the Kromme Rijn. At the Gooyerwetering you go in the direction of the Amerongerwetering and then from the beginning of the Langbroekerwetering to where it flows into the Kromme Rijn at Odijk. Along the way, you will drive through a varied landscape past twelve castles and knight's manors, all of which are described under Sights. The water management in this area is also discussed. In short, a breath of fresh air and a touch of history.
