Description by the author

The route goes clockwise and starts in Wouw. A nice parking spot is available by the church (but it is not available on Wednesday mornings due to the weekly market).

The route first goes under more via the bike street/path along the canal de Zoom, towards and through the Kalmthoutse Heath (through the heath on an asphalt road closed to motor traffic). Via the bike path along the railway line Essen - Antwerp, and along Ravenhof castle, you cycle to Putte and again towards the Netherlands. Just south of Ossendrecht, you will encounter several climbs (up to 6%) over the Brabantse Wal, a steep edge with height differences of up to 21 meters, including the climbs of the Leemberg and the Trambaan from Ossendrecht. The climb de Bunt, which, contrary to what some maps indicate, is completely on paved road, is a hidden and beautiful climb. The climb ends in a short stretch of cobblestones. At Woensdrecht, you are presented with the climb of the Rijzendeweg (with a nice viewpoint from the Brabantse Wal), but also a descent that partly goes over a cobblestone road.

The route then goes further north with another climb over the Vossenweg, and then you cycle frequently through forested areas east of Bergen op Zoom and along the Bergse Heide.
Via Halsteren and along Fort De Roovere, the route returns to Wouw.

Regarding the roads, the following should be noted:
- the entire route is paved, but you will encounter three cobblestone sections for the wheels: the Bossestraat (descent from the Rijzendeweg), a small piece at the end of the climb De Bunt, and in Belgium east of Zandvliet,
- on the route, there are 3x a narrow asphalted bike path along a sandy/gravel road, namely (1) over a length of one and a half kilometers east of the Belgian Hoek, (2) a small kilometer in the climb of the Trambaan (between Ossendrecht and Calfsven) and (3) a small kilometer along the railway line west of Korteven.
