In 2020 it was 75 years ago that the Netherlands was liberated, everywhere this is celebrated with an important place for Wageningen as the City of Liberation. Much less known are the food transports, which then took place to the starving west of the Netherlands. This was done from Wageningen, which was then just on the border of occupied territory, on the same road along which armies of Nazi Germany at the time marched to the Grebbeberg. A historic route, both at the beginning and the end of the Second World War.
The route leads from Museum 'De Casteelse Poort' to the City Museum Rhenen. There is a small guide available, compiled by Theo Guiking. The booklet is available at both museums.
