This route starts at the parking lot of Residence Rhenen, Veenendaalsestraatweg 50, Elst (U).

This is the route of the vistas. Before the Utrechtse Heuvelrug ends at the Grebbeberg in Rhenen, the hills rise one more time, between Elst and Rhenen. First of all, you get to the views from the Remmerdenseheide and over Plantage Willem III, which takes its name from the cultivation of tobacco in the 19th century. The gentle slopes reach the Lower Rhine and behind it you can see the church towers of Betuwe villages. Grazing with Konik horses and Galloway cattle ensures that the terrain can retain its open character.

Over a beautiful beech avenue it then goes to the other side of the ridge and you suddenly find yourself in front of the views at the top of the outskirts of Kwintelooijen. In the 1950s, a dynamic contractor from Veenendaal had the concession to excavate sand here for the countless construction projects and road construction from just after the Second World War. We now benefit from this: steep slopes and unobstructed views over the Gelderse Vallei to the forests of the Veluwe. Sit down on one of the many benches and let it sink in!

Back to the starting point, you gradually descend through the woods of Prattenburg Estate.
