Noord Coffee Roasters - Via the industrial estate De Dubbelen to the Wijboschbroek

Together with Noord Coffee, we offer several walks that start and end at the Noordkade in Veghel, where there is plenty of opportunity to park your car.

This walk of just under 3 hours goes via the industrial estate De Dubbelen to the Wijboschbroek. On both the outbound and return trip, we walk along the German Line and through a nature zone along the A50.

At the industrial estate De Dubbelen, we walk past the Mars factories, the Sligro, and several large transport companies. We also walk past the storage of large shipping containers that we can almost touch.

The Wijboschbroek is a wet nature gem thanks to the soil. The clay-rich, wet, and nutrient-rich soil of the forest is very suitable for unique plant growth. After the area was largely deforested, it became agricultural land in the nineteenth century, with meadows (hay fields) in the lower, wet parts. In the twentieth century, the entire area was reforested, primarily with poplars. Poplar cultivation has maintained the forest fauna and flora through the centuries, and this is clearly noticeable.

At the Noordkade, there is a large parking lot where you can optionally park your car. Please note, the first rows are a blue zone. Before and after the walk, you can enjoy browsing around as there is plenty to see. You can grab a nice cup of coffee nearby at the Noord Coffee Espressobar, under the large hourglass.
