Beautiful varied walks along the river Aa, Blankens Kerkhof and the German Line.

Together with Noord Coffee we offer some walks that start and end at the Noordkade in Veghel where there is plenty of opportunity to park the car.

Via the old port and the Sluisstraat we reach the banks of the river Aa near a nature playground. We can immediately take a look at the largest rapids that have been artificially constructed here and where many canoeists are in for a fun challenge. We continue to follow the river for about 5 kilometers until we reach the bicycle bridge to Keldonk.

We bend and walk on paved paths, wind through small sandy paths and walk a bit on the bike path of a busy road towards Blankens Kerkhof. In the 19th century, this piece of land outside the built-up area was given the purpose of a general cemetery to bury deceased criminals, suicide bombers, illegal cohabitants and vagrants.

Via several paths we walk back to the built-up area of Veghel and via the former route of the German Line we walk in a straight line of about 2.5 km back to the river Aa. Via the river Aa we descend again towards the Noordkade.

On the Noordkade there is a large parking lot where the car can be parked. Please note, the first rows are a blue zone. Before and after the walk you can browse around here because there is plenty to see. You can score a nice cup of coffee near the starting point at the Noord Coffee Espressobar, under the large hourglass.
