Discover all benefitsYou follow the route clockwise, first towards Liessel, Griendtsveen, Veulen, and Oirlo.
After crossing the A73, the landscape becomes smaller-scale, the roads become curvier, and the terrain is slightly hilly (due to the centuries-long influence of the Maas and streams that drain into the Maas). At Blitterswijck, you cycle for the first time along the Maas on this route. The route then follows the northern edge of nature reserve 't Sohr, an old Maas riverbed that was filled in 1995 after high water levels at that time, but which has now been restored. Via the Kweibrug and Broekhuizenvorst, you cycle past project Mooder Maas: here, 500 hectares of new nature has been created, and the Maas is allowed to flood here. The work was completed at the end of 2020, along with the necessary infrastructure adjustments.
After Broekhuizen, you cycle for a long time along the Maas towards Lottum. The route then heads towards Swolgen, where you cycle along the southern edge of nature reserve 't Sohr towards Meerlo. Via Castenray, you cycle along the Schadijkse Bossen to America, and then to Evertsoord via Zwarte Plakweg, Helenaveen, and Neerkant, ending back in Heusden.
