Cycle route Open Monuments Doorn - Saturday 9 September 2023

From/to: start at parking lot* t.o. Ludenlaan 1, 3941 CN Doorn, municipality of Utrechtse Heuvelrug, The Netherlands. Free parking.

Almost all municipal and national monuments in Doorn listed below can only be visited free of charge during the Open Monuments Day. This recreational cycling route will take you past 12 beautiful monuments on Saturday 9 September 2023. The Beukenrode Hunting Lodge (no. 6) and the Pavilion at Huis Doorn (no. 12) are only open (to a limited extent) on Sunday 10 September.

The following national and municipal monuments welcome you on Saturday:

1. Luden's Chapel
2. Maarten Maartenshuis, Guided tour
3. Old General Cemetery, circular walk
4. Historic Bartiméus Tea Garden (both days)
5. Hyde Park Orangery
6. Jachthuis Beukenrode ( Sunday only from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
7. Ice Cellar
8. St. Martin's Church
9. St. Martin's Church
10. Antiquities Room, the historical information and documentation centre in Doorn
11. Karnmolen - archaeological find on display
12. Huis Doorn, exhibition in garage ex-keizer (only Sunday afternoon)
13. Overtuin villa Boschoord
14. Kampweg Church

In short, this will be a 'historical' introduction to the more than 11-century-old village, which lies on the southern flanks of the wooded Utrechtse Heuvelrug.

* Restaurants and cafes are located 750 metres from the car park in the centre of Doorn.
