The cycle route starts in the center of Rockanje and soon leads through a polder landscape with water features. Those water features (the Waal and the Strijpese Wetering) were once part of sea creeks.
The many beautiful "outdoors" (with horses in the meadow) change after some time into a greenhouse landscape. Many greenhouses are higher than the owner's homes on the road. The route then leads through the center of Oostvoorne.
The necessary catering facilities can be found in the Stationsstraat. ("Stationsstraat" is a reminder of the time when a regional tram track ran here from Rotterdam (Rosestraat) to the beach). The cycle route then continues through the dune and forest area of the Voornes Duin (including the visitor center of the Tenellaplas
