The Limes cycling route follows the almost 2000-year-old, northernmost boundaries of the Roman Empire, from the North Sea to the Black Sea. Especially if you have an interest in the history of the Roman Empire and enjoy cycling longer distances, this route is for you. The Limes cycling route by Clemens Sweerman consists of three parts. The first part goes from Katwijk to Regensburg.
We have connected our Limes route to the LF Maas route (see other cycling routes you might want to ride). We cycled the Dutch part of 150 km to Nijmegen along quiet, small roads and some major Dutch cities such as Leiden, Utrecht, and Nijmegen.
