The route starts from the parking lot of the Heldense Bossen (near the campsite of the same name) and goes clockwise. 45% of the route consists of gravel roads.
It starts immediately with gravel cycle paths (part of the cycling network network) through the Heldense Bossen to Baarlo, and then gravel roads around the hamlet of Rinkesfort. Then you cycle about 5 km on asphalt (and partly also on a narrow asphalted cycle path along a dirt road) and after the hamlet of Dubbroek many strips of gravel roads follow between Maasbree and Boekend in and around the nature reserves of Mortelsven, Kockersen, Kraijelsche Heide, Blerickse Heide and Blerickse Bergen. This area consists of forests, cultural landscape, narrow and winding roads and slightly hilly terrain with height differences of up to 10 meters (due to the fact that the Meuse used to flow here (some nature reserves are remnants of old Meuse arms)).

The route ends up after a gravel strip at Kasteel de Berckt near Baarlo. Then it is about five kilometers on asphalt cycling where you also cycle directly along the Maas and the weir of Belfeld. This is followed by gravel roads around the Begijnenberg (an old river dune), and around the Keuper Heide (partly on gravel cycle path). The route goes a bit along the Drainage Canal on gravel roads, and then (on partly gravel roads) through the Gruise Epper nature reserve. Then you cycle through the core of Helden and follow one more gravel strip along the sports park of Helden.
