The magical Ørsdalen

Only 11 kilometers, but a very tough and challenging journey. Once you've crossed the beautiful suspension bridge by the parking and the Tourist Center, you follow the red dots as best as you can that are painted on the largest stones. Note: the dots can be very hard to spot at times, so keep an eye on your GPS once you're up there. But first, there's the climb, and it suddenly becomes very steep. People with an unsteady gait or fear of heights should stay away from here. There are constant scrambles, and occasionally there are cables to literally pull yourself up. It is strongly advised against walking the loop in reverse direction due to the danger of descending here. Once at the top, you are rewarded with a fabulous setting and remnants of the former ore mines. The path winds between enormous boulders and beautiful lakes. In many places, it is a challenge to find the right direction, and orienting can be difficult. Once at the lyrical lake 'Juvvatnet', you pass a beautifully situated mountain hut. Be sure to go inside if you can. Soon, the descent can gradually begin. Make sure to start from the correct side of the stream. Past halfway down the descent, there are scars in the landscape caused by the construction of a hydro-energy system. Once down, there's still the calm return to the parking lot. You can choose asphalt along the road (there isn't much traffic here) or on the other side of the river upstream through the grassland. Say hello to the goats and sheep. ;-)
