Description by the author

The route is marked as a track in the provinces of Innlandet and Buskerud in Norway. It can rightly be called mountain and valley, as it consists of gigantic climbs and steep descents. Fjell og dal in Innlandet & Buskerud also means in Dutch Mountain and valley in Innlandet & Buskerud. The highest point is 1211 meters and it lies in a mountainous area where you find various mountains ranging from 1110 to 1788 meters. There are also various ski slopes here. Wearing layered clothing is a plus. We start in Valdres and drive via Bagn to Gol. Here we encounter mountains of 1200 meters. To the south of Gol, we find Hallingdal, a beautiful valley with a gorge. The route then runs along Torpo, Ål to Hol. To the southwest of Hol lies Hallingskarvet National Park, with Presholtskarvet as the highest peak at 1859 m. We now have a substantial climb, a bit of descent, and then climb again to 1221 m. Here we also find the mountain Hestefjellet with its 1616 m peak. The famous ski resort Stryn Ski Center is located here.

We drive on to Hemsedal (also a ski resort here) and then drive along the famous Panoramavegen by various lakes. We then drive over a beautiful plateau to the capital of the valley Valdres, the town of Fagernes. Fagernes is a ski destination in winter and a vast hiking area in summer. The village is located by the Strondafjord with sandy beaches in the bay. The most famous attraction in the town is the Valdres Folkemuseum. Here you can see everything related to Norwegian cultural history in this large open-air museum.

After this, we drive on paved roads through forests and along lakes towards Bruflat via a detour. There we turn off to then drive back on unpaved forest roads to our starting point Støytfoss rasteplass.

Again, this route has a lot of unpaved sections. (The RouteYou map does not indicate this at all)
