ON22 Russenes-Nordkapp

22nd and final ride from Oekene to the North Cape: from Russenes to Nordkapp. Goal achieved!
Gently rolling roads along the beautiful Porsangerfjord, then through the 7 kilometer long 208 m deep North Cape tunnel, followed by some steep climbs and 128 kilometers to reach the North Cape, 1561 elevation meters. It is a beautiful ride through a rugged and deserted landscape.

The North Cape is a steep cliff in northern Norway from where you overlook the northern Atlantic Ocean and further the Arctic Ocean. The North Cape is often incorrectly referred to as the northernmost point of Europe. When excluding Svalbard, the more westerly located Knivskjelodden, 1.5 km further north, is the northernmost point. The northernmost point of the European mainland is Kinnarodden, a cape near the more easterly located Mehamn. The North Cape itself is actually on an island that you reach via the North Cape tunnel under the Magerøysundet, a strait between the mainland and the island of the North Cape.
