Description

It is a Karma Pa sect monastery in the center of the village.

The monastery was built more than 200 years ago . A branch of the foundation of the Karma Pa Kagyut Pa sect of Samteling of Mustang, it is known as the Samteling Gompa of Marpha. The monastery features statues of Amitabha (Red Buddha), Chenresig (Avalokiteswora), Channa Dhorje (Vajrapani) and Guru Rimpoche (Padmasambhava) along with other deities and beautiful frescoes.

Visitors can experience Dhekep , a masked dance performed by monks in October/November.
