This route is part of trekking in Annapurna area
Day 1: Jomsom (2750m) - Kagbeni (2800m) - 10 km
A perfect start-up day: a fairly flat trek in the bed of the Kali Gandaki river. We arrive here in the morning by plane from Pokhara, an impressive flight along the Dhaulagiri (8167m).
We pass an iron footbridge over the Kali Gandaki: Kagbeni bridge. The road goes along the left bank of the river to Eklebatti. Many have lunch here. We have a good view of the Dhaulagiri. There is a strong wind that, in combination with the sand, creates a sandblast. Because of the strong wind during the day, flights to Jomsom are only made early in the morning.
Now it becomes slightly uphill , and we leave the riverbed for a wide, gently ascending path. It is a short drive to the village of Kagbeni , a small primitive typical Nepalese mountain village bordering the kingdom of Mustang , a protected state of Nepal.
Be sure to consult the information about the sights here once you are on site. They explain what you get to see!
