Burg-Guben-Zielona Góra: Rivers and Landscapes / Rzeki i krajobrazy

The tour takes you from the Spreewald to Zielona Góra (Grünberg) in Poland. You start in Burg, Germany’s largest dispersed settlement with the unique water labyrinth in the Spreewald Biosphere Reserve. The tour then continues through Cottbus with its many sights. As you continue towards Guben you will pass through a landscape shaped by lignite mining and subsequent recultivation. In Guben you cross the Neiße to Gubin in Poland.
On the back roads in Poland cyclists will pass through sleepy villages and deserted countryside. In Krosno Odrzańskie (Crossen an der Oder) you cross the Bober and the Oder. From there you can take the bus or ship, and the town also has service facilities for tourists. On the Polish side, the tour takes you alongside roads with little traffic, some country roads as well as paved farm tracks. Only the small town of Krosno Odrzańskie has a little more traffic.
