Located along the road that connects the village of Paderne and the castle, one finds this well and washing place, integrated in the Ribeira de Quarteira. Built in the eighteenth century, this place has always been of great importance, which can be confirmed by the attention paid to its maintenance by the laws of this municipality. During the last renovation, the source has been retained, parking spaces have been laid out and the area has been refurbished. There is also a walking route from this parking lot, which leads to an old water mill on paths partly used by the Romans. The bridge over the river is a remnant of Roman times.
