Drive about a kilometer from Tolmin toward Zatolmin, turn right and drive to the Okrepčevalnica Tolminska korita snack bar, and continue on foot.
The circular trail leads downward to the confluence of the Tolminka and Zadlaščica rivers, from there to the Medvedova glava (“Bear’s Head”) and on the Zatolmin-Čadrg road to the entrance to Dante’s Cave. Return along the road and cross Hudičev most, the “Devil’s Bridge.”
You can also go to the Tolminska chutes on foot, from Tolmin along the Tolminka River to the Austrian World War I cemetery, and past the Okrepčevalnica Tolminska korita snack bar to the entrance of Triglav National Park. Cross the Tolminka River at the confluence of the Tolminka and Zadlaščica rivers. The trail continues over a footbridge across the Zadlaščica River, through the village of Žabče, and back to Tolmin.
The hike takes about 3 hours.
