Wat Si Roi is situated in Ban Si Roi (Mu 4) of Si Roi sub-district in Wiset Chai Chan of Ang Thong province. The temple is located on the Noi River. The monastery displays a seated Buddha image in the open called Luang Pho To. The statue is 21 meters high with a span of 6 meters from knee to knee. It took the local community 19 years to build it. It was inaugurated in 1936, but was already finalized in 1928. Sources wrote that in the ubosot there were old murals painted by artists from the Ayutthaya School, but the walls of the hall at present have been whitened. No murals can be seen today. Wat Si Roi got its name from an historical event mentioned in the Royal Chronicles of Ayutthaya.
