Ko Phong Phet is a small private island situated at the confluence of the Ko Loeng Canal and the Lopburi River just north of the Asian Highway in Pho Sam Ton area of Bang Pahan district. The islet features a giant statue of a temple guard, called yaksa, on its northern side. This yaksha is probably Kubera, the Lord of wealth, the god-king of the semi-divine Yakshas in Hindu mythology and regarded as the regent of the North and a protector of the world. On its southern side is a giant statue of Phraya Nak or Naga, the king of serpents, enemy of garuda and a guardian of subterranean regions and water. It is a mythical creature having the ability to assume the form of a man as well as a serpent. The naga is often seen in art as a cobra with many heads or sometimes as a human being with snakehood behind the head. The islet was earlier known as Ko Duan or "Moon Island".
