Wat Ton Son or the "Monastery of the Pine Tree" is a classic Buddhist monastery situated on the right bank of the Chao Phraya River in Talat Luang Sub-district of Mueang District of Ang Thong Province. Wat Ton Son is one of the oldest temples in the province and is well known for its Buddha image - seated in a meditation posture - called “Somdet Phra Sri Mueang Thong”, measuring 13.7 m wide across the lap and 19.5 m in height. It is the first largest Buddha image made of metal. Other highlights in the temple include the “Somdet Phra Sri Mueang Ngern” Buddha image and a life-size cast image of one of Thailand’s most revered monks, Somdet Phra Buddha Chan To.
