The monastery dates from the Late Ayutthaya period, probably early 18th century. The temple initially consisted only of a demarcated ordination hall. The temple premises were extended in the Early Ratanakosin period. A new ubosot was built on top of the old ordination hall, a vihara was added as also some auxiliary chedi and a new demarcation wall. Wat Thai Talat was abandoned in 1973 AD, while the Fine Arts Department 3th region restored the monastery in 2012 AD.
