In the ordination hall of Wat Khian are very nice mural paintings said to be dating from the Late Ayutthaya period (1629 - 1767 AD). The murals reflect different styles of people, present images of hermits and wise men and record the presence of foreigners in Ayutthaya. The paintings at Wat Khian are valuable for their craftsmanship and give testimony to old cultural heritage. The murals are very similar to the ones of Wat Ko Kaeo Suttharam and Wat Yai Suwannaram in Phetchaburi province and are dating from the same time period.
