Wat Mai Ruak is a classic Buddhist monastery located on the right bank of the Pa Sak River in Tha Ruea Sub-district of Tha Ruea District in Ayutthaya Province. The murals inside the vihara of Wat Mai Ruak (Monastery of Reed) date back to the Early Bangkok Period, around 1827 during the reign of King Rama III. The murals are tempera paintings mixed with glue on the foundation.
