Khon Sawan is an ancient city, in the past named Mueang Ka Long. It was built in the same era as Mueang Korat by Phraya Khun Han, a cousin of the governor of Korat. A large Buddha image dating back to the Dvaravati Period is situated at Wat Khon Sawan. It is a laterite Buddha image in a standing posture, representing the Dvaravati art, with a height of 3 meters. It is called "Luang Pho Yai” by the locals and enshrined in a small wihan which is open for the public to pay respect. There are another two images half the size of the same origin.
Moreover, there are also many large sandstone boundary markers with a bas-relief depicting the Jataka stories, as well as, 9th-century inscription in the Mon scripts. Outside lie many other boundary stones both with and without the bas-relief. [Source: TAT & Wikipedia]
