Phra Ajan Thammachot, after whom this mountaintop temple was named, was a Buddhist monk who played an important role in Bang Rachan villagers' battle against Burmese troops. Known for his expertise in talismans, used to bring fortune and protect their wearers, the Bang Rachan villagers invited him to boost morale and provide encouragement in their fight against the Burmese soldiers.
