Royal Handwriting Archaeological Site

Source: Ayutthaya Historical Research

Description

Once stood here a Hindu temple dating back to the same period of Mueang Si Mahosot (5-11th centuries). Today there is the Royal Handwriting Monument, which preserves the handwriting of King Rama V (King Chulalongkorn) on a laterite stone slab, part of the laterite base of the former temple when he visited Prachin Buri in 1908. The site is located in Mueang Kao Sub-District. [Multiple sources]
