Noen Phukhao Thong (Si Mahosot Site No 3) is a remnant of a ruined chedi dating back to the Dvaravati era. A golden Buddha image in the meditation posture showing the characteristics of local art (8th - 11th centuries) and called Phra Nirantarai was found here by a farmer and offered to King Rama IV (Mongkut). The king had a new Phra Nirantarai Buddha image cast in gold to encase the original Phra Nirantarai image. A replica is currently on display at the Phra Suralai Phiman Hall at the Grand Palace in Bangkok.
