Wat Ta Baek is located in the forested Aranyik area (Aranyawasi) north of Mueang Chakangrao (old Kamphaeng Phet). The temple dates back to the 16th - 17th centuries (1458-1657 CE), correlated with the beginning of the Middle Ayutthaya Period. The temple's plan is rectangular, aligned on an east-west axis, facing east. A wall built of laterite separates the cluster of monuments into two zones. A vihara is located in the outer zone, while the inner zone consists of monuments such as the main bell-shaped stupa in a square plan and other buildings such as rooms, pavilions and a place assumed a Bodhi tree was grown.
