Wat Mamuang Ngam is located in the forested Aranyik area (Aranyawasi) north of Mueang Chakangrao (old Kamphaeng Phet). The temple dates back to the 15th - 17th centuries (1358-1657 CE), correlated with the late Sukhothai - middle Ayutthaya Periods. The temple's plan is rectangular, aligned on an east-west axis, facing east. A wall built of laterite separates the cluster of monuments into two zones: Phuttawat and Sangkawat. The Phuttawat (shrine area) is located in the inner zone and consists of a vihara, mandapa and the main bell-shaped stupa. This stupa, built on a square foundation, has an art style similar to the main stupa at Wat Kamphaeng Ngam. The Sangkawat consists of pavilions and ponds located within the outer wall.
