Wat Rim Thang, also called Wat Rim Thanon as it is located on a stretch of the Phra Ruang (ancient) Road, is situated north of the forested Aranyik area of Mueang Chakangrao. The Thanon Phra Ruang was formerly lined on either side by a canal that connected ancient Sukhothai to all the kingdom's major cities, including Kamphaeng Phet, the kingdom's southern frontier. The ancient monument features a large laterite vihara surrounded by a temple wall built from laterite square posts. Parts of Buddha image on a pedestal in the vihara can be seen. A pavilion base, a monks' residence base, pond and bathing area can also be found.
