It is customary to say thank you to the porters and cooks on the final evening (usually at Mweka or Millennium Camp).
The group is called up and the goalkeepers are thanked for their efforts ; the chefs for the good food (“better than in the hotel”). It's also the time when the organization and the climbers give them things: obvious leftovers like sports drinks and energy bars, but also t-shirts, clothes and even spats and headlamps.
Then there is still time for the obligatory group photo of the climbers and porters and contact details are exchanged.
