Kadiivka or Kadiyivka , also known as Kadiyevka and Stakhanov, is a city in the Luhansk Oblast of eastern Ukraine. The city is incorporated as a city of oblast significance. Its population is approximately 74,053 . The city is called Stakhanov by the Luhansk People's Republic administration.
Before 1937 the city was known as Kadiivka. From 1937 to 1940 the city was named Sergo in honor of Sergo Ordzhonikidze, and then from 1940 to 1978 the city was again known as Kadiivka.
